Whether you qualified or not, you should be very proud of your achievement You all had a goal in mind, and went out there and put in the months of training and long runs, and it all paid off when you crossed that finish line and received your medal.

A big thank you goes out to all the club members who, even though they weren' t running the marathon, helped out with support during the months of training to make sure everyone would have a successful marathon also thank you to Sarah Hull and Melissa Moore on the work they did getting the hotel room ready for all our tired marathoners and for their own unique awards they handed out at the Dogwood at our celebration. It was fun and very much appreciated

3RD ANNUAL MT WASHINGTON HIKE

This years trip will be on the weekend of August 25, 26 and 27. The accommodations will be different from last year. No more bunk house! We will be staying Friday and Saturday night at The Cranmore Mt Lodge, a quaint B&B at the base of 'Mount Cranmore in North Conway New Hampshire. We are renting the lodges townhouse which sleeps 15 people. The cost is $70 per person for two nights. This incIudes breakfast. The lodge has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Saturday night dinner will be at the Appalachian Mountain Clubs Pinkham Notch Visitors Center. They serve a great family style meal for $15 per person. Total cost foT the weekend is $85 per person. Extraordinary Service Under Fire and "Combined New Members Award"!

by John Govoni
To Sarah Hull and Melissa Moore, we say thank you a hundred times over for all your efforts and help during this year's Boston Marathon. You encour aged us on our training runs, were always receptive to suggestions on your New Bedford Half Marathon efforts (congrats on your first 1/2 Marathon!), and then, to top it off, you took the heroic task of coordinating the Marathon day hotel accommodations and post-marathon party awards ceremony at the Dogwood Cafe.

Sarah and Melissa, you are truly outstanding women and friends of Parkway who have only started on your running journey. Here's hoping to see you both at the starting line in Hopkinton next year and perhaps on the ballot in November.

Many thanks from all the Parkway Runners

Cross-Train for the Health of It: Sunday Morning Bike Rides Resume!

Last year several Parkway Runners elected to cross train through local cycling trips on the weekend. We're interested in trying it again. Weekly Bike rides of 20+ and 40+ miles will resume weather and interest permitting on Sunday, May13. Contact Rob Kerwin at rjkerwin@aol.com if interested. Rides usually include local trips through Dover and Point West, Walden Pond and beyond.

The Corrub Pub 5k will be held on June 4th. They are looking for volunteers, so if you will not be running, why not help

And the winner is:
Congratulations to Julie Connors on finshing first overall for women in the Hyde Park Community Center Road Race (5 Mile). With a little support from Walter Burgess and John Donnelly who followed on their bikes, Julie was able to overcome the hot tempartures and high humidity and finish first by over 1 minute over the second place women.
Way to go Julie!

SAVE THE DATE. September 23, 2000 - Lake Winnipesaukee Relay.

This Is a race around the entire Lake, coverina about 70 miles, done with a team of runners. The legs vary in distance from 4 miles to 11 miles. In past years, the Club has had a great time doing the Relay. We spend the day rooting on each PRC runner on their leg of the run. There are usually abut l60 teams in the race, including most of the other running clubs in the area. We will plan on finding a place to stay in New Hampshire for Friday night. We can field as may teams as we can fill. Please let Jim Sweeney (781-255-9484, james.sweeney@ago.state.ma.us) know if you have an interest in running this year. We will be looking for a definite committment by July.

E-MAIL ADDRESSES
If you change your e-mail address or haven't been getting Club e-mails lately, please send Tom Purcell your current e-mail address. Tom will keep the PRC's current e-mail address list. If you need to send a general e-mail to PRC members, contact Tom. Tom's e-mail address is: tom.purcell@fmr.com
